The periodicity of disassembling maintenance for induction motors in now determined by the durability of the lubricating grease in the bearings. If the grease remained intact is best used, therefore, it may be possible to extend the inspection period. To use the packed grease more effectively, the authors have investigated the motion of the grease and examined the way grease moves between the bearing covers and the bearing covers and the bearing when a bearing rotates. As a result, the oil component of the grease packed in the bearing covers reached the bearing and helped lubricating. Moreover, migration speed of lubricant depended on the hollow shapes in bearing covers.
