When a high-speed train runs into a tunnel, air pressure in tunnel changes to give a fatigue effect on tunnel lining concrete. First, we measured air pressure changes on Fukuoka tunnel lining when Shinkansen trains passed through the tunnel. Then, we performed bending fatigue tests and their simulation analysis of plane concrete specimens in order to elucidate the fatigue effect on tunnel lining concrete. As a result, we obtained a conclusion that there are no problems when the tunnel lining concrete is sound.
