Our goal in this study is to examine a new method to reduce ground vibration by an in-filled trench barrier, "Traffic Quake Cut - Wall method." Ground Vibration induced by a running train sometimes causes a vibration nuisance problems near the railway. In this study, a parameter study by FEM was conducted to find the most effect parameters of in-filled trench barrier. These parameters were the embedded depth of barrier D, relative stiffness between barrier and ground , width of barrier W, damping coefficient of barrier and density of barrier . It was confirmed that the barrier could be effective in the case that the embedded depth of the barrier was from a half to one wavelength and the width of the barrier was one fifth of the wavelength.
