Since the opening of the Yamanashi Maglev Test Line, we have been promoting research on the adaptability of a new radio band, 45GHz millimeter wave, as next-generation train radio system. This Line has a trial system for feasibility studies. In this paper, we introduce the features of the system and some test results. Though these experiments including transmission of digitalized motion picture data, we have confirmed that this radio band is useful for train control systems.
