Recently, the number of passengers who use certain terminal stations in Tokyo has extremely increased. This paper introduces the changes of passenger flow, monitoring images of concourses leading to urban developments near the stations, and the changes of passenger and pedestrian flow observed at Ebisu and Tachikawa Station. By the same method of counting passengers at the automatic ticket gates and pedestrians in concourses, several characteristics of terminal stations about user movements have become clear. When planning terminal stations, it is very important to consider these characteristics.
