We are carrying out the development of a method to improve soil by using Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) polymer solution. This method is excellent with regard to the characteristics of deformation and water-cutting performance. This is effective, therefore, for in-ground walls to cut off water and reduce ground traffic vibration. We performed monotonic and cyclic loading triaxial tests, permeability tests, etc. This paper describes the basic characteristics of the soil improved with a PVA polymer solution.
