We carried out running tests based on the joint research between China Academy of Railway Sciences and Railway Technical Research Institute on the slip phenomenon analysis and anti-slip control of high-speed trains. This research is based on the protocol concluded between China Academy of Railway Sciences and Railway Technical Research Institute in July, 1999. We carried in special measuring instruments, and analyzed the wheel slip phenomenon of the newest electric locomotive in China. From the running test results, we obtained knowledge of the adhesion phenomenon between wheel and rail under an axle load of 21 tons, as explained below.
