Many kinds of research and development have been promoted for electric railways at RTRI. This paper outlines the recent studies on the power supply system to make the system meet recent keywords such as energy saving, age advancement and information technology. The studies include the electric power storage method at substations, diagnosis method for feeding and current collection systems, structure and material improvements, basic research such as simulations and measuring methods.
