We performed a loading test of a high strength concrete RC beam without tie-hoop, discussed the strength of inclined crack based on the study results in the past and evaluated the shear capacity of an RC beam with high strength tie-hoop for different combinations of the strength of tie-hoop and concrete. In this study, we found that an upper limit should be set for the shear force to be borne by concrete in evaluating the shear capacity, to which the standard value of high-hoop strength was applicable when high strength concrete was used.
