Psychological aptitude tests target the workers of train operation divisions. The contents of work change as railway facilities and safety installations improve. Therefore, it is required to propose new tests that are adapted to the present conditions. This research studied a basic concept of these tests. Jobs were analyzed first, and then jobs connected with serious accidents were clarified based on the expert knowledge of a railway company. Furthermore, errors that arose in each job were clarified, and risk was evaluated in relative terms. As a next step, we select tasks of experiment corresponding to high-resk errors. The performance in experiments will be used as a criterion of tests, and new psychological aptitude tests will be proposed.
