Railway Vehicle Technology Now

  The Vehicle Research Group, RTRI, is now promoting researches on various subjects to improve the performance of railway vehicles in service. This paper introduces the status and several points of the development activities at RTRI, such as the development of a new tilting system and development of low-cost semi-active suspension, investigation of trade-off method of truck parameters, fatigue strength estimation method for welding joints for carbody, development of electric power recycle vehicle, energy accumulation elements hybrid diesel vehicle, fuel cell vehicle and superconducting traction transformer.
