Based on the decision by the Maglev Technology Practicality Evaluation Committee, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, research and development on the superconducting magnetic levitation system (Maglev) has been continued to establish the best solutions on several subjects since 2001. These subjects include verification of reliability and durability, technologies to improve cost performance and aerodynamic characteristics of vehicle.
