A Variable-Mixed Real-Time Method for Train Control with the Intelligent-Tag System

Hiroshi FUKUOKA

Recent train control systems, which enable complicated cooperation of trains, require high-speed and real-time data processing. For other purpose, however, high-speed or real-time processing related to safety is not always necessary. As a whole, trains are controlled at different degrees of real-time/fault-tolerance, which depends on the train interval, for example. This paper proposes, the Intelligent Tag system, as a new real-time (train control) method (with fault tolerant property) for the above-mentioned real-time control system (variable-mixed real-time system).
