Many researches on the power supply system for electric railways have been presented at RTRI. Recently the environmental words such as energy saving or recycling are important key words for researches on the railway power supply system. This paper outlines several researches from the viewpoint of energy saving, system reliability, recycling and basic researches. It will be not too long before some of these researches are put into practice.
