Small amplitude pressure waves are continuously radiated out of the portals of a Shinkansen tunnel while a train is running in the tunnel. The influence of the continuous pressure waves on the environment near tunnel portals has been growing with the speed-up of Shinkansen trains as a problem of low-frequency sound. This paper describes the results of the measurement of the continuous pressure waves carried out according to the manual edited by the Ministry of the Environment.
