In our previous researches, we estimated the reduced quantity of aerodynamic drag of trains by smoothing the underfloor construction. However, we did not compare the results of wind tunnel tests with those of on-track tests, or verify the accuracy of wind tunnel tests for the aerodynamic drag of trains. In this research, we estimated the aerodynamic drag of a train-set by wind tunnel tests, and compared the results with those of on-track tests. These results show the reduced quantity of the aerodynamic drag of trains obtained from wind tunnel tests approximately agrees with that by on-track tests.
