A passing train causes a draft and a pressure variation around itself. The draft causes a safety problem on passengers on a platform, while the pressure variation exerts an aerodynamic force on structures on the platform. The characteristics of the draft and the pressure variation have been studied from the middle of 1950s. As recent speed up of railways make these phenomena more important, we review the results of those studies on the train draft and pressure variation.
