We have developed a facility management system which uses radio tags. This system automatically identifies the facility to be inspected by reading the ID of the radio tag pasted there on beforehand. It is characteristically equipped with a work plan creating function that covers the creation of duty schedules, inspection data input function and inspection data reference function centering on facilities and an inspection database. A portable terminal to input inspection results and the database server are connected via the Internet by cellular phones including PHSs. This paper describes the problems related to the evaluation and practical use of this system.
