Stirrups have not been used in footings so far, since it was reported that they were little effective for shear reinforcement. In recent researches, however, their effect is confirmed through experiments of deep beams whose load mechanism is similar to that of footings. In this research, a method was proposed to evaluate the shear strength of footings with piles based on the results of a model test.
