Under the environment subjected to chloride attack, it is important to examine the corrosion of reinforcing bars. JSCE specifies a method of examining chloride ions. Furthermore, it is known that the density of chloride ion on the surface of concrete is different in different areas. However, there are few reports on the chloride ions on the surface on concrete in different areas or at different distances from the coast. This report clarifies the difference in the density of chloride ion under such conditions based on a survey of railway concrete structures and proposes a density of the chloride ions on the surface of concrete structures.
