Development of Rail Fastening Devices with a Larger Quantity of Adjustment

Noritsugi ABE,  Osamu WAKATSUKI,  Tsuyoshi TABUCHI

We developed a common rail fastening device for slab and PC sleeper direct connection tracks.@The quantity of rail position adjustment is larger than that of the existing type 4 direct fastener and is equal to that of the type 8 direct fastener. To reduce the materials cost, this rail fastening device of the direct seat placing type does not use a base plate and is installed at interval of 715mm which is extended from the traditional 625mm. To follow changes in the posture plate spring, the type I uses a spherical surface hexagon bolt and a washer, and the type U uses a hexagon bolt and an arc washer. We confirmed by performance tests that this rail fastening device displayed sufficient utility ability in direct connection tracks of Sinkansen and conventional lines.
