The reasonably structured isolation system can decrease the ground motion input and response. To apply the isolation system to railway bridges, there is a problem of its interaction with track structure, or clarification of the dynamic constraining force by the track structure. Shaking table tests were implemented with an actual large ballast track structure and an examination model of bridge isolation system. As a result, the mechanism of the constraining force of the track structure was elucidated and an analytical model used for nonlinear dynamic analysis was designed.
