An Analytical Study on Dynamic Behavior of Floating Ladder Track at Earthquake

  A number of researches have been implemented on the safety of tracks at earthquake, based on which various measures have been taken to prevent earthquake damage. Nevertheless, sufficient knowledge has not been obtained yet on the dynamic track behaviors or the interaction between track and railway structures hit by an earthquake. In order to clarify these unknown phenomena, therefore, a nonlinear dynamic response analysis program has been developed to evaluate the nonlinear behaviors of tracks and structures, dynamic interaction in between and track buckling. This paper describes an outline of the program and the results of an analytical study to use this program on the behavior of floating ladder track on a structure subjected to seismic motion.
