Development of Section Repair Method of Concrete Structures by New Sprayed Mortar

Seiichi TOTTORI,    Hideki KUSUMOTO

Concrete structures that have been in use (in service) for several ten years may have lost serviceability due to deterioration and cause public disaster resulted from concrete flaking and separation. As a result, there are a number of concrete structures that increasingly require repair and reinforcement. However, the section restoration measure now applied to concrete structures is expensive and involves various problems with respect to the environment and workability. To solve these problems, therefore, a new section restoration method was developed to spray special mortar by means of wet spraying. This method improves durability, economy, workability and life cycle cost of structures while reducing maintenance costs.
