The goal of this study is to develop a new method to reduce ground vibration by an in-filled trench barrier of the "Traffic Quake Cut Wall method." Ground vibration induced by a running train sometimes causes vibration nuisance near the railway track. This paper introduces (1) a series of mixing tests of the in-filled trench barrier material consisting of soil cement and Expanded Poly-Styrofoam Beads, (2) an execution test of the in-filled trench barrier, and the availability of the in-filled trench barrier obtained from vibration tests with an exciter.
