We developed a fire resistance design for over-track buildings 12 years ago in case a small-size kiosk burns on the platform. In resent year, however, large-size kiosks are being built on platforms to improve the convenience of passengers, which are different from the conventional small-size ones in the floor area, window shapes and other dimensions. We investigated the weight of combustible materials in a large kiosk, performed a full-scale fire test thereof, modeled the behaviors of fire, and made it possible to estimate the temperature of steel members in buildings.
