Results of Running Test on the Yamanashi Maglev Test Line in the Fiscal Year of 2003 and 2004

  The running test on the Yamanashi Maglev Test Line has been continued for eight years since April 1997. The cumulative running distance has reached 434,066 km with several bogies running 200,000 km or over, which is set as the target distance of durability evaluation. In fiscal 2003 and 2004, verification of long-term durability was focused in the running test. More over, the special tests to run a vehicle under simulated irregular conditions were performed in fiscal 2004 which located the final year of the five-year plan. This paper reports the results of the running test on the Yamanashi Maglev Test line in fiscal 2003 and 2004.
