The ground coils of the superconducting maglev system laid along the whole length of the guideway are not only in the outdoor environment for a long period of time, but also in large quantities. In developing ground coils, therefore, it is important to ensure their stable performance and high reliability in addition to cost reduction. We performed durability verification test of the ground coils for propulsion, levitation and guidance which have been developed to reduce the construction cost, and confirmed that they remained normal even after a 35-year equivalent durability test.
