For superconducting magnetically levitated trains, magnetic shielding is one of the important tasks. Until now, a basic system of DC magnetic shielding for vehicles has already been established. We discussed methods to further reduce shielding weight and magnetic field in vehicles. To attain this purpose, we adopted and tested new magnetic materials and a shielding structure. For example, we used a shielding material with higher saturated magnetic flux density. This paper reports the test results of this magnetic shielding method.
