Statistical Relationships between Earthquake Disaster and Seismic Parameters Used for Train Operation Control after Earthquake

Hiromitsu NAKAMURA, Naoyasu IWATA, Kimitoshi ASHIYA

We studied the statistical relationship among seismic parameters used for train operation control after earthquake (acceleration for alarming, spectrum intensity, and instrumental seismic intensity) and the attenuation characteristics of the parameters which are function of earthquake magnitude and epicentral distance by using a large number of strong ground motion records. These data were observed by the K-NET and the JMA95-type seismometers. We have investigated the statistical relationships between earthquake disaster and the attenuation characteristics of parameters, and found out that the limit of earthquake damage outbreak corresponded to acceleration of 80gal, spectrum intensity of 6kine, and instrumental seismic intensity of 4.5.
