Method to Predict the Scale of a Slope Collapse and the Impact Force of Soil

Osamu NUNOKAWA, Tomoyasu SUGIYAMA, Toru KOBAYASHI

The disaster of soil flowing into a railroad track due to a slope collapse sometimes occurs along a railroad line. To construct an effective countermeasure of such a disaster, it is necessary to establish a method to predict the scale of a slope collapse and the impact force of soil. Accordingly, we developed a method to predict the scale of a slope collapse from the slope conditions by analyzing the slope collapse data. Furthermore, we acquired knowledge related to the equation of the impact force of soil in a slope collapse by executing miniature model experiments.
