In this report, we present evaluation methods and evaluated results related to aerodynamic noises generated during the running of high-speed rolling stock. The whole aerodynamic noise sources are classified and the locations of major noise sources are proved to be current collecting equipments, gaps of rolling stock, and bogie parts involving cavities for bogie space. Guiding principles for decreasing such, aerodynamic noises are presented. The key points of them consist of the methods to prevent, weaken, or break down vortex motions in airflow around rolling stock.
