The suitable dimensions of passenger supports were studied to improve these usability of various body builds. Experiments were conducted under vibratory condition using train simulator. The recommendable range of the strap height was revealed in terms of the ratio to the height of passengers with shoes. In the case of the strap length of 275mm, the range was found out to be between 90% and 105%. As to the position of handrails, when the distance between handrails and front edge of the seats was 100mm or 150mm, usability was improved without disturbing the flow of passenger.
