To reduce track maintenance costs, extending of the periodical replacement of continuous welded rail (CWR) based on passing tonnage is expected. In this study, we predicted the fatigue life of 50kgN rail and 60kg rail based on the fatigue test of welded part of the rail which was used and received wheel loads repeatedly on an operating line, and indicated the possibility of extending the periodical replacement. Then we constructed the analytical tools for the dynamic stress of the CWR that had been formed by welding the jointed rails used on an operating line, and estimated the fatigue life of it.
