The principal objects of the research and development in the field of structural technology are to reduce construction costs, to improve maintenance technologies, to improve environmental technologies and to establish design standards. We are developing useful technologies for railway companies such as performance evaluation methods for various types of aged structures.
  This paper describes the concept of these objects, several examples of research results and subjects of research and development.
