For further speed of railway vehicles running on the existing narrow gauge track, we developed a new tilting system that enables tilting of a car-body with a larger angle than that of conventional tilting train. The system is to cooperate with tilting beam and controlled air spring height, reducing a loss of wheel-load and avoiding lateral displacement of car-body caused by the larger tilting angle. In this paper, we report the features of such a hybrid-tilting system, the control method applicable to the hybrid car-body tilting, the result of bench tests we carried out.
