As well known, a skid increases braking distance and wheel damages, so that anti-lock braking system (ABS) plays a very important role. In this paper, first of all, we propose a new ABS applying fuzzy reasoning (new ABS), and through practical tests, we show that the new ABS can shorten braking distance. Furthermore, we propose a braking system applying fuzzy reasoning (proposed braking system). This is the system for train sets, into which the new ABS applying fuzzy reasoning is integrated. Through practical tests, we show that the proposed system can reduce occurrences of skid, shorten braking distance and reduce wheel damages.
