Research Trends in Vehicle Control Technology in RTRI

  Vehicle Control Technology Division of Railway Technical Research Institute has been promoting researches and developments mainly on improving traction and brake-control technology for railway vehicles. Saving energy consumption and reduction of emission of CO2 gas are recent trends in this field. We therefore, have studied on related R&D themes. We have also been studying on various aspects in a wide range: anti-slip and anti-slide control, improvement of disk brake, maintenance of electronic devices for railway vehicles, improvement of track short circuit performance and exhausted gas of diesel cars.
 This special issue contains the recent results of the studies in our division. This paper also has described other topics in this field.
