Development of Electromagnetic Vibration Test Apparatus to Verify Durability of Ground Coils

  Ground coils used along the entire length of maglev system need to withstand a long-term exterior service. However, ground coils set along the guideway are vibrated by electromagnetic force when a train is passing by. Durability verification of the ground coils under the condition of substantial electromagnetic vibration is important in securing the total reliability of the maglev system. Therefore, we developed an electromagnetic vibration test apparatus unavoidable for the bench test. Using this apparatus, we succeeded in evaluating the durability performance for the practical ground coils.
