In recent years, high-speed data transmission lines, which make use of existing metallic cables, have become very popular with the development of high-speed digital transmission technologies. However, the environments in which high-speed data transmission lines are installed in a railway company are different from those for public subscriber lines. In this paper, we report an estimation method of the characteristics of high-speed data transmission lines using metallic cables provided along railway lines.
