A Probability Model of Gust Occurrence Considering Spatial Fluctuation of Wind Velocity

Toshiaki IMAI,  Taisuke SHIMAMURA,  Takaaki FUKUHARA

To estimate the risk for train operation according to weather condition at a section by wind velocity observed at a site, it was necessary to understand the characteristic of correlation of wind velocity observed at two spatially different sites. We performed statistical analyses about spatial wind fluctuations at two sites 10-40 meters apart and showed a model that estimated relations between the difference of wind velocity at the two sites and the distance of them. In addition, we presented a method that a probability model included time fluctuation adding to the correlation between wind velocities of two different sites.
