Traffic control based on rainfall index is being widely applied; however, it is necessary to implement traffic control under rainfall more appropriately to secure safe and stable transport at present. For this purpose, it is important to grasp a change of soil moisture in embankments during rainfall to evaluate precisely a danger of embankment collapse. In this research, the author conducted water-spraying experiment and seepage analysis by using a model embankment, which simulates a railway embankment to grasp varied soil moistures during the rainfall.
