Train Operation Restrictions under Severe Weather Conditions and Earthquake

  To prevent train accidents, train operation is sometimes restricted under severe weather conditions such as a gale, a heavy rain, a flood, snow, and natural phenomena such as an earthquake.
  In this paper, a general view of the history of train operation restrictions in Japan is taken, and the prospect of the research and the development on the subject of train operation restrictions to prevent railway accidents due to the natural disasters is discussed.
