It is essential to evaluate correctly the corrosion rate of reinforcement to predict deterioration of concrete. The authors investigated the relation between corrosion rate of reinforcement and quality of concrete by researching the existing structure and test pieces. As the result, we induced an equation, which evaluates the corrosion rate of reinforcement. This equation indicates that the corrosion rate is in conjunction with water content, chloride ions concentration and neutralized depth in concrete. In addition, we made suggestions on the estimated equation of corrosion quantity for the occurrence of loose part or spalling in concrete as a condition deriving loose part or spalling.
