When train operations are disturbed, information on rearranged timetable must be transmitted promptly to station staffs so that they can give passengers sufficient guidance in a timely manner. Gathering relevant information for passenger guidance from the flood of information in disrupted train operations requires heuristic knowledge which station staffs acquire through their long experiences as railway specialists, and therefore is not an easy task for inexperienced staffs. We propose a general framework for acquiring information filtering rules to be used by station staffs. We show that filtering rules acquired by our methodology are effective enough to be used as part of the information delivery system for station staffs.
