Characteristics and Potential of the Human Scientific Approach in Railway Transport

  Human Science is a generalized term that encompasses human psychology, behavior and responses through a scientific approach. The main purpose of applying the human scientific approach to railway transport is the improvement of passenger/employee safety and comfort. This paper outlines 4 main approaches that attempt to ascertain whether dependent/independent valuables are quantitative or qualitative based on collected data. Representative studies for each approach are introduced and their potential is discussed.
