Evaluation of Salt Damage Corrosion Resistance of the Improved Material for Ears

Shin-ichi KATAYAMA,  Tadanori USUKI

The accidents of breakage of the member of electric overhead line due to damage by corrosion have generated occasionally. Then, aiming at life extension, the aluminum bronze test piece of which nickel amount value was changed was prepared, and the atmospheric exposure test was carried out in Gatsugi anti-salt testing station and corrosion resistance was evaluated. As the result, the aluminum bronze which had the lower aluminum content and the higher nickel content had a good corrosion resistance.@On the other hand, generation of corrosion was recognized at the parts of the surface where preparation process of test piece was not good.
