April 3, 1997, 13 hours 13 minutes marked an official start of MLX01 run at an acceleration of 0.1G with attendance of Minister of Transport, Japan, Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture and other dignitaries invited to the Yamanashi Test Line. At long last, Maglev Test Run started after lapse of 7 years since authorization of the project in June, 1990.
