Design Method of Countermeasures for Deformed Tunnel

A new design method of countermeasures for deformed tunnels based on tunnel lining model tests, numerical analyses and field measurements has been developed. The countermeasures taken in this method include backfill grouting, rock bolting, inner reinforcing and inner lining. In this paper the following design procedures are introduced; 1) the design procedure using the standard design pattern according to reinforcing rank, tunnel structure and cause of deformation; and 2) the design procedure using the lining crack propagation analysis with a frame model.
