In the last decade, many railway companies in Japan adopted a computerized facility management system for better efficiency and other benefits. There are some serious problems, however, such as high costs of initial data registration and inconsistency between ledgers and drawings. In order to solve these problems, we have developed a highly dynamic system called Dynamic Generation System(DGS). In this system, the above problems are solved by a dynamic generation process of drawings with a database. This system has been introduced into some railway companies in Japan to exhibit remarkable merits.
